Vaccine Policy
Protecting Your Child’s Health
The Pediatric Center is committed to protecting the health of your children through vaccination.
we firmly believe:
In the effectiveness of vaccines to prevent serious illness and to save lives.
In the safety of our vaccines.
That all children and young adults should receive all of the recommended vaccines according to the schedule published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Vaccinating infants, children and young adults may be the single most important health-promoting intervention we perform as healthcare providers and that you can perform as parents/caregivers.
The recommended vaccines and the vaccine schedule are the results of years and years of scientific research and data gathering. We will do everything we can to help you understand the current recommendations. Please be advised that delaying or modifying the vaccine schedule goes against expert recommendations and can put your child at risk for serious illness (or even death) and goes against our medical advice.
We are affiliated with the Vaccine for Children program (VFC) through the Idaho Immunization Program (IIP). There is also a Vaccine Assessment Fund in the state of Idaho. We are fortunate in Idaho to have these programs/funds available, making vaccines available to us at no cost. We screen every child at their immunization visits so if there is a cost concern for vaccines or the administration fee, please communicate with us, we are here to help.
With our VFC affiliation all of our immunization records are automatically uploaded to the Idaho Immunization Reminder Information system (IRIS). Most medical offices, schools and even some daycares have access to IRIS so they can look up your child(s) records. Parents can also track vaccine records and see upcoming/overdue immunizations with the free app, Docket. On the Docket app, you can create a new account and manage your child(s) records, being able to print them for school, sport or daycare use.
We recognize and understand that the choice to vaccinate may be an emotional one, and we will try our best to address your concerns and help explain that vaccinations are in the best interest of your child and the community as a whole.
